Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 8 / ABET Level 2 or equivalent qualification
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills (ability to read and write)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic understanding of security-related duties
• Ability to complete simple reports

Key Duties (Core Functions)

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Performing routine manual farming-related tasks
• Controlling movement of cloven-hoofed animals in designated areas
• Stopping, registering, and searching vehicles within redline zones
• Identifying and confiscating prohibited goods or products
• Opening and closing gates as required
• Conducting fence patrols and carrying out minor repairs
• Tracking animal movements along fence lines
• Clearing bushes and maintaining fence visibility
• Managing quarantined animals and verifying permits
• Keeping accurate records of:
  • Permits
  • Animal quarantine movements
  • Vehicle entry and exit logs
