Position Summary<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As a Shelf Packer, your primary responsibility is to ensure that shelves are consistently filled, well-organized, and clean. You will assist customers in locating products, provide basic product information, and help maintain hygiene standards throughout the store. Your role is critical in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience for our customers.<\/p>\n

This role requires a combination of physical energy, a sharp eye for detail, good communication skills, and a helpful, customer-first attitude. You\u2019ll also work closely with the receiving team, merchandisers, and store managers to ensure all stock is rotated, arranged, and presented correctly.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Your daily duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:<\/p>\n

1. Stock Packing and Shelf Management<\/strong><\/h4>\n
    \n
  • \n

    Unpack, sort, and neatly stack merchandise on shelves in accordance with store layout plans and planograms.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Ensure stock is correctly priced, labelled, and rotated using the FIFO (First In, First Out)<\/strong> method.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Maintain a visually appealing shelf by aligning products, cleaning shelf surfaces, and ensuring that displays meet store presentation standards.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Quickly and accurately replenish stock to avoid out-of-stock situations on the sales floor.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Identify and report damaged, expired, or slow-moving stock to supervisors.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    2. Customer Service Support<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    • \n

      Greet customers courteously and assist them in locating specific products.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Offer basic product information, especially regarding location, availability, and alternatives.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Listen attentively to customer inquiries and direct more complex concerns to the appropriate team member or supervisor.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Maintain a positive, helpful, and approachable attitude at all times.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      3. Hygiene and Housekeeping<\/strong><\/h4>\n

        Keep the sales floor and shelves clean, organized, and clutter-free.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Dispose of empty boxes, packaging materials, and other waste promptly and safely.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Adhere to hygiene and safety standards set by the store, especially in food-related aisles.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Support general store cleanliness, including cleaning spills or messes to prevent safety hazards.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        4. Operational Efficiency<\/strong><\/h4>\n

          Demonstrate a sense of urgency when completing tasks and assist with urgent replenishment when needed.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Work as part of a team to meet shift goals and contribute to the overall performance of the store.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          Participate in routine stock counts, inventory control, and stockroom tidiness.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Report discrepancies, low stock levels, and potential stockouts to the department manager.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Minimum Requirements<\/strong><\/h3>\n

            To be considered for the Shelf Packer role, applicants must meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n

              Education:<\/strong> Minimum of Grade 10 (Grade 12 preferred).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Language:<\/strong> Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              Experience:<\/strong> No prior experience required, but previous retail or stock packing experience is an advantage.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              Availability:<\/strong> Willingness to work flexible retail hours<\/strong>, including weekends, public holidays, and shifts (day and night).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              Physical Fitness:<\/strong> Able to lift, bend, and move stock efficiently and safely for extended periods.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
