Clicks is seeking energetic and service-driven individuals to join their retail teams as Shop Assistants \/ Cashiers<\/strong> across its stores nationwide. This role is an essential part of store operations and involves engaging directly with customers, handling transactions at the point-of-sale (POS), promoting the Clicks ClubCard program, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment.<\/p>\n

Ideal candidates are those who enjoy working in a fast-paced retail environment, are comfortable handling transactions with accuracy, and can offer helpful, friendly service to customers on the shop floor.<\/p>\n

Job Purpose<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The main objective of this role is to ensure every customer has a pleasant shopping experience, whether they are seeking assistance, purchasing goods, or asking about current promotions. A Shop Assistant \/ Cashier plays a vital role in the customer journey by ensuring transactions are processed correctly and efficiently, while also keeping the store tidy and well-stocked.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h2>\n

1. Point-of-Sale (POS) Transaction Handling<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Efficiently operate the till and process customer purchases with speed and accuracy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Ensure all scanned items, prices, and quantities are correct before finalizing sales.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Accept cash, card, and digital payments while following all store policies related to cash handling.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Issue receipts, process returns, and manage exchanges according to store procedures.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Reconcile the till at the end of each shift and report any discrepancies immediately.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    2. Customer Service<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      Provide friendly and helpful assistance to customers at all times.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        4. Product Display and Merchandising<\/strong><\/h3>\n

          Restock shelves to ensure that products are available and displayed attractively.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            6. Housekeeping and Store Presentation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

              Keep the sales floor, counters, shelves, and till areas clean and tidy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              Remove empty boxes or packaging and discard them properly.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              Ensure change rooms (if applicable) are clean and organized.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              Assist in general store cleanliness throughout the day, especially during peak hours.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Minimum Requirements<\/strong><\/h2>\n

              Education:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

                A Grade 12 (Matric)<\/strong> certificate is mandatory.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              • \n

                Additional academic achievements are advantageous, especially if you have passed Mathematics and English<\/strong> with 50% or higher.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Experience:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

                  Experience in a retail<\/strong> or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG)<\/strong> environment is preferred<\/strong>, but not mandatory.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
