BUCO is inviting applications for three Security Checker vacancies across selected branches in South Africa. These positions are ideal for vigilant, reliable, and customer-focused individuals who are passionate about retail security and loss prevention.

As a Security Checker, you will play an important role in protecting company assets by monitoring goods leaving the premises, inspecting vehicles, verifying documentation, and ensuring all security procedures are followed. The successful candidates will help create a safe shopping environment while minimizing stock losses and supporting efficient store operations.

Key Responsibilities

Successful applicants will be responsible for:

• Inspecting all goods leaving the store and yard.

• Verifying sales invoices, delivery notes, returns, and other supporting documentation.

• Obtaining customer signatures for credit purchases where required.

• Monitoring collections for cash customers.

• Inspecting vehicles entering and exiting the premises.

• Controlling access through boom gates.

• Maintaining accurate visitor registers on a daily basis.

• Reporting suspicious activities, theft, or potential security risks immediately.

• Assisting in reducing stock shrinkage and preventing inventory losses.

• Providing professional and courteous customer service.

• Following BUCO’s security policies, operational procedures, and company values at all times.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric).

• At least one year of relevant experience in a hardware, retail, or similar environment.

• Basic understanding of retail security procedures and stock control practices.

• Ability to work independently with a high level of alertness.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
