About the General Assistant Role
As a General Assistant, you will help create an exceptional shopping experience by providing outstanding customer service, replenishing stock, maintaining merchandising standards, and ensuring the store remains clean, organised, and safe.
Working alongside your team, you’ll help keep shelves fully stocked while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the store.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service

Welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner.

Assist customers in finding products.

Answer product-related questions.

Resolve customer queries or refer them to management.

Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
Merchandising
-
Replenish shelves according to store standards.

Keep product displays neat and attractive.

Verify shelf pricing accuracy.

Ensure departments remain fully stocked.
Housekeeping

Maintain a clean and organised work environment.

Keep aisles clear and safe.
-
Assist with unpacking and displaying new stock.

Complete cleaning duties where required.
Stock Control

Report damaged or missing stock.

Help reduce stock losses.

Store stock safely and correctly.

Support inventory management processes.
Health and Safety

Follow Occupational Health and Safety (OHSA) regulations.

Wear protective equipment where necessary.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

Grade 10 (NQF Level 3) with one year of relevant work experience, OR

Grade 12 (Matric) with no previous work experience required.
Applicants must also have:

Valid South African ID or valid work permit.

Good communication skills in English and the dominant local language.

Basic numeracy skills.
