Position Summary
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Administration Clerk (Level 05) at its Insimbini Local Office. This role is designed for applicants with strong administrative abilities who are eager to contribute to the effective delivery of public services. The successful candidate will be expected to support various operational functions by performing a broad range of administrative duties in line with agency procedures and national regulations.
Core Responsibilities
The Administration Clerk will play a key role in ensuring seamless office functionality across several administrative areas. These include, but are not limited to:
1. Transport Coordination

Manage daily transport logistics and requests for the office.

Maintain accurate records for all transport activities.

Ensure transport resources are efficiently utilized and compliant with internal procedures.

Liaise with relevant stakeholders to coordinate vehicle usage.
2. Human Resource Administration

Assist with maintaining updated employee records.

Process leave applications, recruitment paperwork, and onboarding documentation.

Support HR processes as needed to ensure timely and accurate administrative service.
3. General Administrative Duties
-
Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence and communication.
-
Answer and direct telephone calls and email inquiries professionally.

Maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system for both physical and digital records.

Offer administrative support to other departments within the office when required.
4. Procurement and Provisioning
-
Assist in procuring office supplies and materials.
-
Ensure goods and services are ordered and received according to agency procurement policies.

Track stock levels and distribution of supplies to departments.
-
Work closely with finance and supply chain management to ensure proper record-keeping.
5. Compliance and Regulation Adherence
-
Ensure all administrative and financial tasks comply with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and other applicable legislation.

Maintain high levels of accuracy and integrity when handling sensitive documentation.

Report any non-compliant activities to the relevant authority.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following basic requirements:

Educational Qualification: A Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent is required.

Experience: 0–1 year of practical administrative experience in a structured environment.

Skills: Competency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Advantageous: Possession of a valid driver’s license will be considered a plus.
