JOB OPPORTUNITY

SANParks is currently looking for a dedicated and reliable Room Attendant to join the team at Golden Gate Hotel and Chalets located within Golden Gate Highlands National Park.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest service within accommodation facilities and public areas of the park.

Accommodation will be provided inside the park for the successful applicant.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 or NVC Level 4
• 1–2 years of experience in public cleaning or tourism environments
• Certificate in Public Cleaning will be an advantage
• Hotel housekeeping or related cleaning experience will be beneficial
• Knowledge of First Aid
• Good cleaning and hygiene skills
• Ability to communicate and understand English
• Must be punctual, neat, and responsible
• Must comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Must be willing to assist other departments when required

MAIN DUTIES

• Clean chalets and surrounding areas, including changing linen, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, polishing furniture, and emptying bins
• Clean guest facilities and public areas
• Report defects and abnormalities to supervisors
• Monitor inventory items and ensure sufficient stock in chalets
• Record maintenance problems in the maintenance register
• Assist in the laundry section when required
• Deliver excellent customer service at all times
• Manage and meet guest expectations professionally
• Respond to customer concerns and requests courteously
• Evaluate customer service standards and suggest improvements
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly
• Plan and prioritise daily tasks effectively
• Organise duties to ensure efficient use of time and resources
