EPWP GENERAL WORKERS x 1220 positions ( NO GRADE 12 REQUIRED)

POSITIONS AVAILABLE:

  1. EPWP Infrastructure General Worker Operators – Water Softening Plants (7 Positions)
  2. EPWP Infrastructure General Worker – Horticulture/Landscaping/Gardening (2 Positions)
  3. EPWP General Worker (1,211 Positions)

Monthly Stipend: R3,500.00

Centres: Helene Franz Hospital, Lebowakgomo Hospital, Zebediela Hospital, Dilokong Hospital, Maphutha L Malatji Hospital, Thabazimbi Hospital, Provincial Office – Infrastructure Management Chief Directorate, and Primary Health Care Facilities and Hospitals/Vertical Programs across different districts.

General Requirements:
A minimum of ABET qualification or Junior Certificate/Abet Level 4 Certificate with experience in relevant field. Experience in a hospital environment and patient care, willingness to work in various conditions, ability to perform heavy-duty tasks, and ability to work shifts including weekends and public holidays. Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles and the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993. Good communication and customer care skills. Waste management knowledge. Candidates may be expected to undergo a practical test as part of the selection process.

Specific Requirements:
For Infrastructure General Worker Operators: Experience and appropriate competency in Water Softening Plant operation or Plumbing Works. Knowledge of equipment, tools, materials, and general built environment.

For Infrastructure General Worker – Horticulture: Experience in general garden maintenance, chainsaw work and/or working with mowers. Appropriate recognized qualification in horticulture or landscaping is a plus.

For General Worker: Exposure to a hospital environment and patient care, ability to lift persons of varying weights, ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies, ability to work with heavy-duty laundry/cleaning equipment. Willingness to work with human excreta, fluids including blood, and ability to lift corpses of varying weights.

Key Performance Areas:
All positions include maintaining and repairing technical faults, testing equipment and/or facilities against specifications, servicing equipment according to the schedule, quality assuring serviced equipment, keeping and maintaining a job record/register of maintained and repaired faults, and report writing. Additional tasks for horticulture workers include general garden maintenance tasks, maintenance of flower beds, weeding, and other related tasks. General workers may be assigned as porters, laundry aids, mortuary attendants, or ward attendants performing relevant duties.
