Job Purpose

General Assistants are responsible for maintaining clean, hygienic, and safe learning environments within Special Schools. The role includes cleaning classrooms and facilities, assisting with general maintenance, supporting school functions, and ensuring that school premises remain neat and welcoming for learners, staff, and visitors.


Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 10 certificate or an equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in a similar working environment will be an added advantage.

  • Empty refuse bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
  • Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Clean windows, walls, passages, and corridors.
  • Support gardening activities and maintain school grounds.
  • Report maintenance issues and damaged facilities to supervisors.
  • Assist during school events, meetings, and official functions.
  • Ensure cleaning equipment and materials are properly used, maintained, and stored.
  • Carry out any other lawful duties assigned by the Principal or Supervisor.
