ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a hospital support services position where cleaners are responsible for maintaining hygiene and cleanliness across wards, offices, kitchens, bathrooms, and other hospital areas.
You will also assist with basic kitchen duties and ensure that hospital cleaning standards are followed at all times.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
- Grade 10, AET Level 4, or equivalent
- Ability to read and write
- Able to work under pressure
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, nights, and public holidays
- Understanding of Batho Pele principles
- Knowledge of labour relations basics
Added advantage:
- 1 year hospital or cleaning experience
KEY DUTIES
- Clean wards, offices, bathrooms, corridors, and equipment
- Maintain hygiene in patient and staff areas
- Handle spillages and perform deep cleaning tasks
- Wash kitchen utensils and manage food trolley movement
- Replace consumables like soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
- Maintain cleaning equipment and stock
- Ensure daily cleaning checklists are completed
