About the Role
As a Shop Assistant Cashier, you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, processing transactions accurately, promoting the Clicks ClubCard programme, and maintaining high store presentation standards.
The role requires a customer-focused individual who can work efficiently while ensuring customers receive professional and friendly service.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Scan products and process customer payments correctly.
- Handle cash and other payment methods in line with company procedures.
- Promote the Clicks ClubCard programme and assist customers with new registrations.
- Inform customers about current promotions, specials, and store offers.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and represent the Clicks brand professionally.
- Maintain merchandising standards and attractive product displays.
- Carry out housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and organised store.
- Support the achievement of store sales and service objectives.
- Stay informed about products, promotions, and store campaigns.
- Assist customers with product information and general enquiries.
Minimum Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Numerical ability and accuracy.
- Strong customer service orientation.
Advantageous Requirements
- Previous retail or FMCG customer-facing experience.
- Mathematics with at least 50% at Grade 12 level.
- English with at least 50% at Grade 12 level.
Knowledge and Understanding
Candidates should possess knowledge of:
- Basic mathematical calculations.
