Job Overview

Premier Bakeries is currently seeking to appoint two Sales Assistants to support its sales and distribution operations in Durban and Potchefstroom. This opportunity is ideal for motivated and customer-focused individuals who thrive in a fast-paced FMCG environment and enjoy working with customers.

Successful candidates will assist with product deliveries, stock handling, customer service, and route support activities while helping to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent service standards.


About the Role

As a Sales Assistant, you will work closely with Driver Salesmen to ensure bakery products are delivered accurately and efficiently to customers. The role involves assisting with loading and offloading stock, collecting trays, supporting sales activities, and maintaining positive customer relationships.

This position offers valuable exposure to the FMCG industry and provides opportunities for long-term career growth within one of South Africa’s leading food manufacturers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Driver Salesmen with the delivery of bakery products to customers.
  • Help load and unload products safely and efficiently.
  • Collect and return trays from customer locations.
  • Ensure deliveries are completed accurately and within scheduled timeframes.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Support daily route sales and customer service activities.
  • Assist with stock handling and inventory management.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Support operational teams in achieving daily sales and delivery targets.
  • Carry out additional duties assigned by management when required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
  • Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a sales, delivery, distribution, or FMCG-related role.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong planning and organisational abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks.
  • Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and responsible.
