Driver Duties and Responsibilities

As a Driver (Light Duty Vehicle), your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and scheduling transport according to operational requirements.

• Safely transporting staff, patients, authorised passengers, equipment, and official goods.

• Loading and offloading equipment and supplies when required.

• Completing vehicle logbooks and maintaining accurate transport records.

• Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting mechanical faults promptly.

• Assisting the Transport Officer with vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.

• Preparing transport-related reports as requested.

• Following all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.

• Ensuring government vehicles are used responsibly and in accordance with departmental policies.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this position, applicants must have:

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.

• A valid Code B/EB driver’s licence.

• A valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP/PDP).

• Relevant driving experience.

• A responsible driving record with sober habits.

• Willingness to work irregular hours when operationally required.
