About the Position

Toys R Us & Babies R Us is seeking an enthusiastic, customer-oriented Cashier to join its Tyger Valley team. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy interacting with customers, providing excellent service, and helping create enjoyable shopping experiences for families.

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling customer transactions, operating point-of-sale systems, promoting products and special offers, and ensuring efficient service at the checkout area.

Key Responsibilities

• Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.

• Handle cash, card, and other payment methods in accordance with company procedures.

• Deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a positive customer experience.

• Assist customers with enquiries and provide relevant product information.

• Promote additional products, services, and current promotions at the point of sale.

• Ensure products displayed near checkout areas are correctly priced and presented.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and merchandising within the store.

• Participate in stock counts and stock-taking activities when required.

• Support promotional events and sales campaigns.

• Assist in preventing stock losses and protecting company assets.

• Follow all cash-handling and point-of-sale procedures.

• Attend training and development programmes as required.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.

• At least 6 months of retail experience.

• Reliable transportation or the ability to work flexible retail shifts.

• Basic computer literacy.

• Good numerical skills and strong attention to detail.
