About the City of Ekurhuleni General Worker Vacancy
The City of Ekurhuleni General Worker role is responsible for supporting the daily operations of municipal recreation centres and libraries by ensuring facilities remain clean, organised, and safe for employees and members of the public.
The successful candidate will assist with cleaning, gardening, preparing venues for meetings and community events, maintaining outdoor spaces, and reporting maintenance issues to ensure facilities remain in excellent condition.

Key Responsibilities
As a General Worker, your duties will include:

Cleaning recreation centres, libraries, and public facilities.

Vacuuming carpets, cupboards, furniture, and equipment.

Removing refuse to maintain hygiene and comply with Occupational Health and Safety standards.

Cleaning paved walkways and tarmac surfaces.

Maintaining gardens, flowerbeds, and turfgrass areas.

Watering plants and raking grass clippings.

Preparing furniture and equipment for meetings, functions, and community events.

Removing and storing furniture after events.

Reporting maintenance defects and damaged equipment to the line manager.

Following all workplace health, safety, and municipal operational procedures.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the City of Ekurhuleni General Worker position, applicants must have:
