Code 10 Driver Job | Requirements, Duties & How to Apply
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Code 10 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods, materials and/or personnel safely and efficiently to designated destinations. The role also requires proper vehicle care, accurate completion of transport documentation and compliance with road safety and company requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities

Drive assigned Code 10 vehicles safely and responsibly at all times.

Transport and deliver goods, materials and/or personnel to specified destinations.

Assist with loading and unloading goods while ensuring that all cargo is properly secured.

Perform routine vehicle checks before trips and report any faults, damage or maintenance concerns.

Accurately complete delivery notes, trip sheets and other required transport documentation.

Plan suitable routes and help ensure that deliveries and collections are completed within the required timeframes.

Keep the assigned vehicle clean, secure and in good general condition.

Follow company procedures, workplace health and safety requirements and applicable traffic laws.

Communicate any delivery delays, incidents or vehicle-related issues to the appropriate supervisor.

Carry out other reasonable duties related to the position when required.
Requirements and Qualifications

Matric / Grade 12 certificate is required.

At least 2 years of relevant driving experience.

A valid Code 10 / Code C1 driver’s licence.

A valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) is advantageous and may be required depending on the duties involved.

Previous experience in commercial driving, deliveries or logistics will be beneficial.

Good understanding of road networks, traffic regulations and safe vehicle operation.

Effective communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.

A reliable, punctual and responsible approach to work.

Flexibility to work overtime, weekends or shifts when operationally required.
