The successful candidate will play an important role in the company’s distribution operations by ensuring products are delivered efficiently while maintaining high standards of vehicle care and professionalism.
About the Role
As a Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods to customers and designated destinations safely and on schedule. You will also assist with loading and unloading products, conduct daily vehicle inspections, and maintain accurate delivery records.
The role requires excellent driving skills, strong organisational abilities, and a commitment to following company transport procedures and road safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver products safely and efficiently to customers and assigned locations.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness before commencing deliveries.
- Follow delivery schedules and complete deliveries within required timeframes.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Load and unload goods carefully to prevent damage during transport.
- Comply with road traffic legislation and company transport policies.
- Keep supervisors informed of delivery progress and operational issues.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of company vehicles.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Support daily logistics and distribution operations when required.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- Ability to tow heavy loads using a 6-metre trailer.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver.
- Good knowledge of local roads, routes, and traffic regulations.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Good communication and customer service abilities.
- Physically fit and able to assist with loading and unloading duties.
- Professional attitude with a strong focus on safety and reliability.
Advantageous Qualifications
- Experience using GPS navigation systems.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
