Job Purpose
The Store Driver will be responsible for delivering customer orders efficiently while ensuring all deliveries are completed accurately and within the required timeframes. The role also includes maintaining delivery documentation, handling customer payments where necessary, and ensuring the company vehicle is kept in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Deliver customer orders safely and on schedule.
- Ensure the correct products are delivered to the correct customers.
- Prioritise cold-chain deliveries using approved cooler boxes and cold packs.
- Load, unload, and secure stock to prevent damage during transportation.
- Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes.
- Collect store returns and inter-branch transfers while completing all required documentation.
- Obtain customer signatures on invoices and delivery notes.
- Process EFT and cash payments when required.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and vehicle logbooks.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report defects or accidents immediately.
- Comply with road traffic legislation and company vehicle policies.
- Deliver friendly, professional customer service and communicate customer feedback to management.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Valid South African driver’s licence.
- South African citizenship.
- Previous delivery driving experience will be advantageous.
- Willingness to work retail hours, shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Clear criminal and credit record.
- Reliable transport or residence close to the Worcester store.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving heavy boxes.
