South African National Parks (SANParks) is inviting applications for two Cook/Cleaner vacancies at the Thutong Environmental Centre in Marakele National Park. These fixed-term positions offer an excellent opportunity for candidates with a Grade 12 qualification and experience in catering and cleaning to work in one of South Africa’s renowned national parks.
The successful candidates will report to the Interpretative Officer and assist with food preparation, housekeeping, and the daily operations of the environmental learning centre.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the SANParks Cook Cleaner Vacancies 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Grade 12 (Matric).

Relevant experience preparing meals for large groups.
-
Experience cleaning large accommodation facilities that accommodate more than 60 people.

Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety practices.
-
Good communication and time management skills.
-
A people-oriented attitude with the ability to work well with children.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:

Preparing meals for the Walk and Learn on the Wild Side (WALOW) programme.
-
Ensuring meals are prepared and served according to approved menus and programme schedules.

Keeping the kitchen, pantry, and all kitchen equipment clean, organised, and hygienic.

Assisting with stock control, including food supplies, cleaning materials, and other consumables.

Cleaning all facilities at the Thutong Environmental Learning Centre, including:

Kitchen

Dining area
-
Assembly hall
-
Passages
-
Ablution facilities
-
Outdoor and surrounding areas
-

Complying with SANParks health, safety, and hygiene standards.

Assisting with additional duties required for the smooth operation of the environmental learning centre.
