📢 JOB OVERVIEW

The City of Ekurhuleni is inviting applications for Driver Operator positions within the Water and Sanitation Department.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced heavy vehicle operators who can operate water tankers, Hi-Up trucks, TLBs, and related machinery while supporting essential municipal services.

🛠 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

🚚 Vehicle & Machinery Operations
• Operate heavy-duty vehicles, trucks, trailers, and machinery safely
• Transport equipment and materials to work sites
• Operate water tankers, TLBs, and related machinery efficiently

🚽 Water & Sanitation Duties
• Maintain vacuum and chemical toilets in service areas
• Record daily water usage and operational activities
• Assist in protecting municipal resources and preventing wastage

🔧 Vehicle Inspections & Maintenance
• Perform routine vehicle and equipment inspections
• Conduct basic maintenance checks
• Report faults and unresolved operational issues to supervisors

📋 Compliance & Safety
• Follow health, safety, and operational procedures
• Adhere to municipal by-laws, SOPs, and OHS regulations
• Ensure equipment and machinery remain in good working condition

🎓 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 10 qualification or equivalent
• Valid Code 14 driver’s licence with PrDP
• Relevant operator training certificates
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar environment
• Physically fit and capable of operating heavy machinery
