The Driver is responsible for the safe, accurate, and on-time delivery of fresh produce to customers and branches. The role requires strict compliance with road safety regulations, proper vehicle care, and excellent customer service.

🛠 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

🚦 Safe Driving & Compliance
• Drive company vehicles according to traffic laws and company policies
• Follow all safety rules (no phone use while driving, no reckless driving)
• Maintain a zero-incident driving standard

📦 Timely Deliveries
• Deliver orders according to scheduled routes and timelines
• Communicate delays or route issues with dispatch

✔ Delivery Accuracy
• Ensure correct stock and quantities are delivered
• Avoid shortages, damages, or incorrect deliveries
• Obtain customer confirmation upon delivery

📄 Documentation & POD Management
• Ensure all invoices/delivery notes are signed
• Return Proof of Delivery (POD) documents on time
• Maintain accurate records

🚛 Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Report mechanical issues immediately
• Ensure vehicle is always roadworthy

🧽 Vehicle Cleanliness & Care
• Keep vehicle clean inside and outside
• Handle vehicle responsibly to avoid damage

📞 Communication
• Maintain communication with dispatch and management
• Respond promptly to instructions

🤝 Customer Service
• Maintain professional and respectful behavior
• Handle customer queries and escalate issues when needed

📋 Company Compliance
• Follow all company procedures and routes
• Avoid unauthorized stops or route changes

🔚 End-of-Day Duties
• Refuel vehicle when required
• Submit all documents and PODs
• Report daily activities and issues

🎓 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Code 10 or Code 14 license with PDP
• 3–5 years driving experience (FMCG or fresh produce preferred)
• Good knowledge of Johannesburg routes
• Clean driving record
• Basic reading, writing, and numeracy skills
• Ability to assist with loading/unloading when required
