Employment Opportunity
Vhembe District Municipality is currently accepting applications from suitably qualified individuals for eleven (11) General Worker positions within the Water Services Section.
Job Purpose
The successful candidates will support the maintenance, cleaning, and day-to-day upkeep of water reservoirs, pipelines, and other water service infrastructure to ensure efficient service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain the interior of water reservoirs.
- Cut and clear grass using handheld equipment and machinery.
- Wash and sanitize reservoirs and surrounding areas.
- Collect and remove litter, waste, and debris from work sites.
- Carry out basic maintenance and housekeeping duties.
- Assist with plumbing tasks and pipeline maintenance work.
- Help repair leaks, damaged pipes, and faulty connections.
- Transport refuse and waste materials to designated disposal areas.
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and workstations.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10 qualification or equivalent.
- No prior work experience required.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour.
Experience Required
No experience is required. Suitable candidates should be willing to perform physically demanding tasks and work in outdoor environments.
