GOVERNMENT BURSARY OPPORTUNITY 2026

The Western Cape Mobility Department is offering a full-time Student Cadet Traffic Officer bursary programme aimed at young South Africans who want to start a career in traffic law enforcement. This opportunity is available across several towns in the Western Cape and includes structured training at the Gene Louw Traffic College.


This programme is ideal for individuals looking for entry-level government opportunities, as it provides practical training, real work exposure, and a monthly stipend while completing the course.

Training is scheduled for 12 months, starting on 08 June 2026, with applications closing on 05 May 2026. Successful candidates will be trained in road safety, traffic policing, and public order duties.

  • Willingness to undergo strict assessments (fitness, medical, driving, and psychometric tests)
