📦 Shelf Packer Duties

– Pack shelves according to store layout and standards
– Ensure products are neatly displayed and correctly priced
– Check expiry dates and rotate stock (FIFO system)
– Assist with stock receiving and unpacking deliveries
– Keep aisles clean, organised, and safe for customers
– Report damaged or missing stock to supervisors


💰 Cashier Duties

– Scan items and process customer payments accurately
– Handle cash, card, and voucher transactions
– Issue receipts and balance tills at the end of shifts
– Provide friendly and efficient customer service
– Assist customers with queries and promotions
– Maintain cleanliness at the checkout area


📋 Requirements

– Grade 10 or Grade 12 (Matric preferred for cashiers)
– Good communication skills
– Basic numeracy (important for cash handling)
– Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
– Honesty and reliability (very important for cashier roles)
– Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays


⭐ Advantage

– Previous retail experience helps but is NOT always required
– Training is usually provided in-store


💡 Tip

Shelf packing roles are often the easiest entry into retail, while cashier roles require more responsibility with money handling.
