Overview

BUCO and TimberCity are inviting applications for five Cashier positions at selected branches across the Western and Eastern Cape. These opportunities are ideal for service-driven individuals who enjoy interacting with customers and working in a dynamic retail environment.

Successful candidates will be responsible for handling customer transactions accurately, managing cash responsibly, and delivering a professional checkout experience while supporting daily store operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Process customer purchases accurately using approved payment methods.
• Welcome customers and provide friendly, efficient service.
• Issue receipts and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded.
• Balance cash tills and reconcile transactions at the end of each shift.
• Respond to customer enquiries in a professional manner.
• Safeguard cash, tills, and company assets.
• Support general store activities when required.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
• Maintain a clean and organised checkout area.
• Contribute to a positive shopping experience for customers.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Proficiency in English.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Previous cashier experience will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of retail or building materials products will be beneficial.
