About the FNB Learnership Programme
First National Bank (FNB), a division of FirstRand Bank Limited, is inviting eligible South African youth to apply for a 12-month learnership programme.
The programme is intended to help young people develop practical workplace skills while completing structured learning. It provides participants with an opportunity to gain exposure to different areas of the banking sector and build experience that may support their future career development.
The opportunity is particularly suited to individuals who have limited previous work experience and are looking to enter the workplace.
Areas of Work Experience
Successful applicants may be placed in different FNB business areas, depending on the available opportunities. These may include:
- Marketing
- Finance
- Collections
- FNB Cards
- Private and Wealth Investments
- Sales
- Customer Service
- Administration and Support
- Catering
The specific duties and responsibilities will vary according to the business unit and placement.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Be between 18 and 34 years old.
- Be a South African citizen.
- Have a minimum of a Matric certificate. Qualifications equivalent to NQF Levels 5 or 6 may also be considered.
- Have been unemployed for at least six months.
- Have less than 12 months of total work experience.
- Not have previously participated in the FirstJob programme.
- Not have been employed by a FirstRand franchise previously.
- Be proficient in English.
- Not have a criminal record or be blacklisted.
- Not be currently enrolled at an educational institution.
- Be available to participate in the learnership and workplace training for the required period.
