What Will the Successful Candidates Do?
Security Officers will assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for hospital employees, patients, visitors and government property.
The work will include controlling access to the hospital, monitoring visitors and conducting security patrols. Officers may also be required to respond to incidents, report security concerns and ensure that established security procedures are followed.
Access Control and Visitor Management
Duties may include:
- Monitoring people entering and leaving the hospital.
- Controlling access at designated entrances and security points.

- Directing visitors to the appropriate departments or service points.
- Ensuring that admission and access registers are completed correctly.

Requirements for Applicants
Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Basic Education and Training equivalent to NQF Level 3.
- Completion of a Basic Security Officer’s Course.
- Valid PSIRA Grade D registration.
- Ability to read and write.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
Previous security work experience is not required.
