Position Overview
MCE Electric is seeking a dependable, hardworking and safety-conscious Warehouse Cleaner to join its Warehouse Operations team in Johannesburg South, Gauteng.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic working environment throughout the warehouse and surrounding facilities. This will include cleaning floors, walkways, loading areas, offices, kitchens, bathrooms, entrances and other shared spaces.
Applicants should have a National Senior Certificate or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification, together with at least three years of cleaning experience in a warehouse, industrial or commercial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Cleaning: Clean warehouse floors, walkways and other designated areas regularly to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
Floor Maintenance: Sweep, mop and vacuum floors according to the requirements of each area.
Waste Removal: Remove dust, dirt, debris and other waste and dispose of it according to company procedures.
Office Cleaning: Clean desks, offices, common areas and other workplace facilities.
Restroom Maintenance: Clean and maintain bathrooms and restroom facilities to ensure proper hygiene standards.
Kitchen Cleaning: Keep kitchen and staff areas clean, hygienic and well organised.
Waste Management: Empty waste bins regularly and ensure waste is disposed of correctly.
Warehouse Areas: Maintain cleanliness around loading bays, entrances, storage areas and other operational spaces.
Consumables: Monitor and replenish essential supplies such as soap, toilet paper and other cleaning materials.
Equipment Safety: Use cleaning equipment and products correctly and safely and ensure that equipment is properly stored after use.
Equipment Maintenance: Check cleaning equipment regularly and report damaged, faulty or unsafe equipment to the relevant supervisor.
Stock Control: Monitor cleaning supplies and inform the line manager when materials are running low.
Hazard Reporting: Immediately report spills, damage, unsafe conditions or other workplace hazards to the appropriate supervisor.
Maintenance Reporting: Inform management of building repairs, maintenance problems or other facility-related concerns.
Housekeeping: Support general warehouse housekeeping activities and contribute to maintaining an organised work environment.
Health and Safety: Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures while performing cleaning duties.
Minimum Requirements
Education: National Senior Certificate or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
Experience: At least three years of relevant cleaning experience.
Work Environment: Previous cleaning experience in a warehouse, industrial, commercial, factory or similar environment.
Safety Knowledge: Basic understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
Physical Ability: Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual cleaning duties for extended periods.
Independence: Ability to work independently while following instructions and maintaining expected cleaning standards.

Physical Requirements
The position requires candidates to be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods, sweeping and mopping large warehouse areas, moving cleaning equipment and supplies, bending and reaching while cleaning and performing repetitive cleaning activities.
The successful candidate may also be required to work around loading bays, storage areas and other active warehouse environments, making awareness of workplace safety particularly important.

CV Guidance
Your CV should clearly highlight at least three years of relevant cleaning experience, particularly experience gained in a warehouse, factory, distribution centre, industrial facility, commercial building or retail stockroom.
Describe specific responsibilities such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waste removal, restroom and kitchen cleaning, loading-bay cleaning, general housekeeping, handling cleaning chemicals and operating cleaning equipment.
Your National Senior Certificate or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification should also be clearly stated. Any additional training related to health and safety, housekeeping, cleaning procedures or the safe handling of chemicals and equipment should be included.
