The South African Police Service (SAPS) is recruiting 5 500 suitable candidates to join as police trainees. Successful applicants will undergo comprehensive police training and, upon completion, will be considered for permanent appointment as Police Constables. This role is critical in promoting safety, upholding the law, and serving communities across South Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enforce laws and regulations to maintain public order and safety.

• Conduct crime prevention patrols and visible policing duties.

• Respond to emergency calls and incidents.

• Assist in criminal investigations and arrests.

• Compile accurate reports and maintain official records.

• Engage and build trust with the community through professional conduct.

• Support crime prevention initiatives and operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• South African citizenship (must provide valid SA ID).

• Aged between 18–30 years (at the time of application).

• Matric / National Senior Certificate (Grade 12).

• No criminal record.

• Medically, mentally, and physically fit.

• Prepared to undergo basic police training and fitness assessments.

• Willing to be deployed anywhere in South Africa.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license is an advantage (not compulsory).
