Overview

Multiple government departments in South Africa are currently hiring Cleaners for positions in different provinces and regional offices. Opportunities are available within departments such as Correctional Services, Justice, Public Works, Magistrates’ Courts, and several Provincial Government offices.

The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring that government buildings remain clean, hygienic, and well-maintained to provide a safe and healthy environment for employees and visitors.


Key Duties

  • Carry out general cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming

  • Clean offices, boardrooms, restrooms, and other workspaces

  • Empty rubbish bins and ensure waste is disposed of properly

  • Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces

  • Maintain cleanliness in hallways, staircases, and shared areas

  • Follow standard cleaning methods and workplace procedures

  • Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 9, Grade 10, or ABET Level 4 qualification (depending on the specific post)

  • Previous cleaning experience will be beneficial

  • Physically capable of performing cleaning and manual duties

  • Good organisational and time-management abilities

  • Able to work independently as well as within a team environment.
