SAPS Internship Programme 2025/2026

🔍 About the Programme

The South African Police Service (SAPS) is calling on qualified unemployed graduates and students to apply for its 2025/2026 Internship Programme.

This programme offers valuable hands-on work experience in a wide range of fields within SAPS. With over 490 internship roles available across the country, this is a great opportunity to gain exposure to the public service sector and build your career in a meaningful way.


🎯 Purpose of the Internship

The goal of this internship is to support youth development and employment by offering practical workplace training to young people. Through this initiative, SAPS aims to:

  • Equip participants with job-ready skills

  • Provide real-world exposure to policing and administrative work

  • Prepare interns for future careers in both public and private sectors

Graduate Internships (For those with an NQF 6/7 qualification or higher):

  • Administrative Graduates – 190 Posts

  • Legal Admin Graduates – 14 Posts

  • Supply Chain Graduates – 15 Posts

  • HR Management Interns – 4 Posts

  • Budget & Finance Graduates

  • Employee Wellness Interns – 3 Posts

  • Human Resource Development Interns

  • Communication Graduates – 3 Posts

  • Crime Analysis Graduates – 3 Posts

  • Psychometrists

  • IT Specialists

  • Legal Services Graduates (Additional 2 Posts)

  • Organisational Development Graduates – 2 Posts

  • Psychology Interns – 4 Posts

  • Accounting & Budget Interns – 2 Posts

  • Artisan Graduates – 5 Posts

  • Admin Student Interns – 28 Posts

  • Motor Mechanic (Petrol/Diesel) Interns – 50 Posts

  • Assistant Mechanics – 6 Posts

  • Information Technology Interns – 2 Posts

  • Dietician Intern

  • Photographer/Videographer Interns

  • Camera Operators

  • Graphic Designers – 3 Posts

  • Media and Journalism Interns

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this programme, applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen

  • Be unemployed at the time of application

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old

  • Hold a relevant qualification for the internship applied for (NQF 6/7 or higher for graduates; be currently enrolled for student internships)

  • Have no previous participation in a government internship programme

  • No prior work experience is necessary

  • The applicant’s province of residence

  • Available positions in that area

  • The intern’s qualification

  • Interns will be appointed on a fixed-term contract

  • A monthly stipend will be provided
