Purpose of the Job
The primary goal of the Government Cleaner position is to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all assigned areas. Cleaners are responsible for creating and preserving an environment that promotes productivity, health, and safety for all employees and visitors.
In this role, you will carry out daily cleaning routines, ensure the proper use of cleaning materials and equipment, and follow all established safety procedures. Key Responsibilities
As a Government Cleaner, your daily duties will include the following:

General Cleaning and Housekeeping

Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.

Clean and disinfect all assigned work areas, including offices, restrooms, and common spaces.

Empty waste bins, replace liners, and properly dispose of trash and recyclable materials.

Clean windows, mirrors, and glass doors to maintain a spotless appearance.

Ensure that corridors, staircases, and lobbies remain clean and free of obstructions.

Maintain cleanliness of kitchenettes, meeting rooms, and staff rest areas.

Sanitisation and Hygiene Maintenance

Sanitize high-touch surfaces like doorknobs, tables, switches, and equipment.

Refill supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.

Ensure restrooms are cleaned frequently and meet hygiene standards.

Follow departmental cleaning schedules and procedures to prevent contamination.

Health and Safety Compliance

Use cleaning materials safely and in accordance with health and safety guidelines.

Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Report potential hazards, accidents, or maintenance issues to supervisors immediately.

Ensure that cleaning products and equipment are stored safely after use.

Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum Educational Qualification:

Grade 9 or ABET Certificate (or equivalent qualification).

Higher qualifications such as Grade 10 or Grade 12 are advantageous.
Experience:
