About the Program
The Procurement Graduate Program is a competitive, structured development initiative designed to identify, train, and prepare the next generation of procurement leaders. It provides participants with comprehensive exposure to procurement operations, category management, and supply chain strategy within a fast-paced, world-class manufacturing environment.
The program consists of two progressive phases:

Phase 1 (Band VIII): 9 months focused on foundational learning, exposure to procurement operations, and introductory projects.

Phase 2 (Band VII): 12–18 months dedicated to specialized procurement projects, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership development.
Progression from Phase 1 to Phase 2 is performance-based, determined by formal evaluations, project outcomes, and leadership potential.
The program is built on the globally recognized 70-20-10 learning model, which emphasizes:

70% experiential learning through hands-on projects and real business challenges.

20% developmental learning through mentorship, coaching, and peer-to-peer engagement.

10% formal learning through workshops, structured coursework, and professional training.

The primary goal of the Procurement Graduate Program is to:

Key Roles and Responsibilities
During the program, participants will be assigned to various projects and functional teams, gaining hands-on experience across multiple procurement categories. The key responsibilities include:

Supporting Category Managers and Directors on high-impact procurement projects identified as business priorities.

Conducting cost analysis and identifying opportunities to reduce spend while maintaining quality and compliance.

Sourcing goods and services using the 8-Step Sourcing Methodology to ensure value-driven decisions.

Performing process optimization assessments and proposing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency.

Evaluating product specifications, supplier capabilities, and quality standards.

Providing market research and analysis to identify sourcing opportunities and mitigate supply risks.

Assisting in negotiation strategies, tender evaluations, and supplier performance management.

Collaborating with cross-functional departments such as Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, and Manufacturing to ensure seamless procurement execution.

Tracking and reporting on project progress, cost savings, and process improvements.
Throughout the program, participants will also contribute to the organization’s sustainability goals, ensuring procurement practices align with environmental and ethical standards.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this program, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in one of the following fields:

Commerce or related disciplines
