Overview

The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), through the Department of Campus Protection Services (CPS), is offering 57 Seasonal Work opportunities for individuals who are passionate about customer service, student support, and administrative operations within a dynamic academic environment. These temporary roles provide essential operational support during peak university activity periods such as student registrations, orientation, and access-card renewals.

The Seasonal Worker position plays an important role in ensuring smooth and professional service delivery to students, staff, visitors, and service partners, especially during high-volume periods. Job Purpose

Seasonal Workers help maintain smooth operational processes on campus by supporting administrative, operational, and customer engagement tasks. Seasonal Workers ensure that registration and access control services run efficiently by producing student access cards, maintaining queue order, validating documentation, and offering guidance to students requiring help.


Key Performance Areas / Core Duties

Successful applicants will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Produce access and identification cards for students and staff.

  • Load cards and necessary consumables onto printing machines.

  • Assist students with registration and access-related enquiries, providing friendly and accurate guidance.

  • Manage student queues and control the flow of attendees to ensure fast, organized service.

  • Record and categorize information for staff and students on the Babylon operational system.

  • Check and verify authenticity of university documents submitted by students.

  • Distribute safety information pamphlets and educational resources where necessary.

  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of equipment, including hardware and printing consumables relevant to ID card production.

  • Support the daily execution of Campus Protection Services operational plans.

  • Uphold university policies, confidentiality standards, and professional service behavior.

These functions contribute to secure, well-managed, and student-friendly campus operations.


Minimum Requirements

Academic Qualification

  • National Senior Certificate / Matric (required)

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year computer-related work experience

Core Skills and Attributes

  • Strong interpersonal and people-skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage high volumes efficiently

  • Professional conduct and strong work ethic

  • Computer literacy (essential)
