Job Purpose
Toyota South Africa invites suitably qualified and motivated individuals to apply for its Manufacturing Learnership Programme. The purpose of this programme is to develop entry-level manufacturing talent by providing structured theoretical training combined with practical workplace experience. Successful learners will gain the foundational skills, technical knowledge, and workplace competencies required to operate effectively within a manufacturing environment.
This learnership supports Toyota South Africa’s commitment to skills development, youth empowerment, and the growth of a sustainable talent pipeline within the automotive manufacturing sector.
Key Training and Development Areas
Learners enrolled in the programme will receive comprehensive training and hands-on exposure in the following areas:

Effective teamwork and collaboration within a manufacturing environment

Safe handling and use of hand tools in accordance with occupational health and safety standards

Interpretation of assembly and manufacturing drawings and specifications
-
Marking-off, welding, and basic fabrication techniques
-
Operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance of production machinery

Surface preparation processes used in manufacturing operations
-
Basic fire-fighting procedures and emergency response protocols

Production operations management and product dispatch processes
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

Grade 12 qualification with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science

Preference will be given to candidates with a Motor Mechanic Trade qualification

A valid driver’s license will be considered an added advantage

Applicants must have a clear criminal record
