Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and dependable individuals to join our cleaning teams within various government departments across the country. As a Government Cleaner, your role is essential in ensuring that offices, facilities, and public areas remain spotless, hygienic, and welcoming for both employees and visitors. Your efforts will contribute to maintaining a safe and professional environment in the heart of public service.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
-Carry out general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
-Clean and sanitise restrooms, meeting rooms, offices, and other assigned areas.
-Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish according to set procedures.
-Polish mirrors, wipe glass surfaces, and wash window panes.
-Keep communal spaces like hallways, staircases, and reception areas tidy at all times.
-Follow established cleaning schedules, methods, and safety protocols.
-Adhere to occupational health and safety guidelines while performing duties.
Minimum Requirements
-Grade 9 or ABET qualification (or equivalent).
-Previous cleaning or janitorial experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards.
-Good time management and organisational skills.
-Physical fitness and ability to handle manual tasks.
-Familiarity with cleaning products and equipment will be an added advantage.
-Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, when required.
