🔍 Position Overview
As a Shop Assistant or Cashier at Ackerman’s, your role is vital to our customer experience. You will be on the frontlines—engaging with customers, answering questions, handling transactions, and helping maintain a well-organized and welcoming store environment.
Your goal is simple: ensure every customer who walks into our store leaves with a smile, satisfied with both their purchase and the service they received.
🧾 Key Responsibilities
Your daily duties will include, but are not limited to:
🛒 Customer Service & Sales
-Welcoming customers warmly and professionally as they enter the store
-Assisting shoppers in finding the products they’re looking for
-Offering recommendations and styling suggestions when needed
-Resolving customer inquiries or directing them to the appropriate team member
💰 Cashier Duties
-Accurately processing purchases at the cash register
-Handling cash, card, and digital transactions
-Balancing the till and reconciling sales at the end of your shift
-Issuing receipts, refunds, and exchanges according to store policy
🧹 Store Maintenance
-Restocking shelves and ensuring all merchandise is displayed neatly
-Maintaining cleanliness and organization in all store areas, including fitting rooms
-Assisting in inventory counts and tagging new stock
-Following visual merchandising guidelines to keep the store looking its best
🤝 Teamwork
-Communicating effectively with fellow staff and management
-Supporting team members during peak hours and promotions
-Participating in training and development sessions
-Contributing to a positive, collaborative work culture

-Have completed Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification

-Be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and shifts
