The YES (Youth Employment Service) Learnership is a government-backed initiative aimed at addressing youth unemployment by providing structured work experience to young people. As part of this initiative, Foschini—one of South Africa’s most iconic fashion retail brands and a part of The Foschini Group (TFG)—offers a 12-month retail learnership where you’ll gain on-the-job training, professional development, and exposure to the fast-paced world of fashion.

Who Should Apply?
To be considered for this learnership, you need to meet the following minimum criteria:
✔ Age: You must be between 18 and 28 years old
✔ Education: A minimum of Grade 10 is required (although having Matric is preferred)
✔ Employment Status: You must not have been permanently employed by the same employer for more than 12 months
✔ Study Status: You should not be enrolled in full-time studies at any time during the learnership period (April 2023 – March 2024)
✔ YES Program: You must not have previously participated in the YES initiative
✔ Availability: You must be available and committed to complete the full 12-month learnership
✔ Logistics: You’ll need to manage your own transport and accommodation, if necessary

Your Key Responsibilities
As a YES Sales Associate, your role will be dynamic and customer-focused. You’ll be an integral part of the team, responsible for:

Supporting store sales goals by actively promoting products and suggesting additional purchases

Maintaining store standards, keeping displays tidy, and ensuring shelves are well-stocked
