If you’re passionate about helping others, enjoy working with technology, and are looking to gain valuable experience with a leading financial services brand, then this could be the role for you!

We’re currently seeking a Data Capturer to join our KwaMashu branch on a 3-month contract. This is a full-time opportunity, perfect for someone who enjoys interacting with customers while also building their skills in the financial and digital services space.

Why Join Old Mutual?

At Old Mutual, we don’t just offer jobs – we offer growth, development, and the chance to make an impact in your community. By joining our team, you’ll play a part in helping people access the financial tools they need to achieve their goals. Our focus on diversity and inclusion ensures that your unique perspective will be valued, and your contributions will truly matter.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, has excellent communication skills, and wants to help customers confidently use digital platforms.

As a Data Capturer, you’ll be at the heart of our branch operations, supporting both customers and staff. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting customers on self-service devices to make their banking experience smooth and efficient.
  • Guiding customers step-by-step on how to use digital tools for tasks like information submission, account access, and service requests.
  • Providing information and support – whether it’s explaining processes, helping customers read and understand instructions, or pointing them to the right service channel.
  • Supporting call centre integration by sharing contact details and encouraging customers to use the most efficient support platforms.

This role is very hands-on. You’ll spend much of your time engaging with people, providing guidance, and making sure no customer leaves the branch confused about their digital journey.

  • Digitally savvy: You’re comfortable with technology and can guide others to use it.
  • Flexible and adaptable: You’re willing to work varied shifts and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Observant: You notice details and can respond quickly to customer needs.
  • Resilient: You’re able to stay on your feet, keep energy levels up, and manage physical tasks.
  • Multi-lingual: You can communicate effectively in English and at least one other language, making it easier to assist a wide range of customers.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, you’ll need to have:

  • A National Senior Certificate (Matric) or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with digital platforms.

Any previous experience in customer service, data capturing, or administration will be an added advantage – but even if you’re just starting out, we encourage you to apply if you meet the requirements.
