About the YES Programme
The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a national initiative led by the Presidency of South Africa and supported by both public and private sectors. Its mission is clear:
To tackle youth unemployment and provide meaningful first work experiences.

Who Should Apply?
Eskom is calling on ambitious, hardworking, and unemployed youth who want to break into the workforce and make a difference in their own lives — and in South Africa.
Minimum Requirements:
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Must be a South African Citizen
Aged between 18 and 34 years old
Hold a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification (post-matric qualifications are a plus)
Not currently employed in a permanent job for more than 1 year
Not studying full-time in 2025 or 2026
Must not have participated in the YES programme previously
Willing to work in any province across South Africa, depending on operational needs
Available Locations:
Successful applicants may be placed at Eskom Operations in any of the following provinces:
Gauteng
KwaZulu-Natal
Western Cape
Eastern Cape
Limpopo
Mpumalanga
Northern Cape
Free State
North West
What You’ll Gain:
A 12-month employment contract
Work experience in administrative, technical, or operational roles (depending on placement)
Mentorship and support from experienced Eskom professionals
A monthly stipend during your contract
A YES Certificate of Completion at the end of your term
Please Note:
This is a temporary opportunity aimed at helping youth gain work experience. It does not guarantee permanent employment at Eskom. However, the experience and skills you gain will position you strongly for future job opportunities.
