Role Overview

As a Seasonal Store General Worker, you’ll play a vital role in supporting day-to-day operations in one of our retail restaurant stores. You will assist with both front-of-house and back-of-house duties, ensuring that customers receive top-notch service and that store operations run smoothly throughout the festive period.

This role is ideal for entry-level candidates or those with some hospitality experience who are looking to build their skills in a high-paced, customer-facing environment.


Key Responsibilities

Your role as a Store General Worker will be hands-on, fast-paced, and highly interactive. You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the daily running of store operations, including opening and closing duties.

  • Delivering exceptional customer service at the counter and dining areas.

  • Assisting in stock receiving, unpacking, and safe storage of products and supplies.

  • Performing general cleaning tasks, including sanitising tables, floors, and equipment.

  • Taking customer orders and handling point-of-sale (POS) systems (if assigned to front-of-house).

  • Preparing and packaging food (if assigned to kitchen/back-of-house).

  • Restocking shelves and fridges throughout your shift.

  • Supporting team members to meet operational goals and sales targets.

  • Ensuring compliance with food hygiene and safety standards at all times.

  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming store environment.


Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this seasonal opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Education

  • Minimum: Grade 10 / Standard 8

  • Preferred: Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate

Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer service role such as:

    • Waiter/Waitress

    • Store assistant

    • Fast-food attendant

    • Hospitality or retail environments

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and basic written).

  • Good numeracy skills (for POS handling, basic cash duties).

  • Positive, friendly attitude with a strong customer-first mindset.

  • Physically fit and able to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout shifts.

  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.

  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a busy environment.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

  • Must be punctual, reliable, and committed for the full duration of the contract.
