Job Overview
As a Government Cleaner, you will be expected to deliver consistent cleaning services across assigned areas within your department. Your work will directly support the day-to-day operations of government offices and contribute to creating a safe, sanitary, and well-maintained environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The responsibilities assigned to Government Cleaners include:

Performing routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, polishing, and dusting.

Disinfecting restrooms, cleaning offices, boardrooms, corridors, and all other allocated spaces.

Emptying bins, removing waste, and ensuring correct disposal of garbage.

Cleaning mirrors, windows, and other glass surfaces.

Maintaining cleanliness in all shared spaces, including hallways, reception areas, foyers, staircases, and lobbies.

Following all established cleaning procedures and departmental hygiene standards.

Adhering to health and safety rules at all times, especially when handling equipment and cleaning chemicals.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
To qualify for these posts, applicants must meet the following requirements:

A minimum of Grade 9 or ABET (or an equivalent qualification).

Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is not mandatory but will be considered an advantage.

Ability to work independently and also collaborate effectively in a team.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks thoroughly.

Good time-management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.

Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour for extended periods.

Basic understanding of cleaning materials, equipment, and hygiene processes.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
