Overview
Transnet Freight Rail is inviting applications for a Trainee Yard Official position based in Belfast. This developmental role is designed to train and equip candidates with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to perform Yard Official duties competently.
The appointed candidate will participate in structured, modular training and must successfully complete all prescribed modules to obtain certification as a qualified Yard Official.
Position Purpose
To enrol in and complete a structured training programme that builds the knowledge, skills, and competence needed to carry out Yard Official responsibilities safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities

Attend and complete all theoretical training within the specified timelines

Participate in and complete practical training requirements

Acquire the skills to conduct yard operations and operate allocated equipment

Perform assigned duties safely in accordance with company policies and operational standards

Compile and maintain a comprehensive portfolio of evidence for completed training
-
Demonstrate accountability and competence upon completion of the training programme
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12
-
Successful completion of a psychological screening assessment

Successful completion of a relevant medical examination (including eyesight and hearing tests)

Good physical health and fitness

Ability to successfully complete and pass both theoretical and practical training components
