Reporting To: Front-End Supervisor / Store Manager
Job Purpose
To provide efficient and friendly checkout service to customers by accurately processing transactions, handling payments, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities

Scan and process customer purchases accurately and efficiently

Handle cash, card, vouchers, and other payment methods

Issue receipts, refunds, and change correctly

Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts
-
Maintain a clean and organised checkout area
-
Assist customers with enquiries in a professional manner

Promote store loyalty programmes and special promotions

Follow company policies regarding cash handling and security

Report discrepancies or suspicious activities to management
-
Adhere to health and safety procedures
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 (Matric) preferred
-
Basic numeracy and literacy skills
-
Previous cashier or retail experience advantageous

Ability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays

Clear criminal record
