Cashier Position – Dis-Chem Pharmacies

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is currently recruiting an experienced Cashier to join the team at its Kenilworth branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent point-of-sale service and ensuring customers enjoy a smooth and positive checkout experience.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate

• At least 6 months’ experience operating a cashier/till

• Basic proficiency in MS Office applications

• Strong numerical ability

• Good command of the English language

• Fundamental customer service skills

• Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays

Job Responsibilities

As a Cashier, you will be expected to:

• Comply with company customer service standards and procedures

• Build and maintain professional relationships with customers

• Report customer compliments and complaints to the Frontline Supervisor or store management

• Meet the required hourly customer turnover targets

• Stay updated on promotions, sales, and product offerings

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and customers

• Manage and control cash flow responsibly

• Accurately process transactions using the company’s operating system

• Handle returns and exchanges according to company policy

• Securely manage cash, loyalty cards, and all payment methods

• Report suspicious activities or security risks immediately

• Assist customers with product-related queries

• Adhere strictly to company security policies and procedures
