Overview

The Department of Electricity and Energy is recruiting two Security Risk Officers for its Head Office in Pretoria. These permanent positions are suitable for candidates with a Matric certificate and a Grade C PSIRA qualification, with no prior experience required.

Successful applicants will be responsible for maintaining security within the department by performing patrols, managing access control, operating control room systems, and responding to alarm activations. @ameirelles

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate (NQF Level 4)

• Grade C Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority certificate

• No prior work experience required

• Knowledge of security policies, legislation, and procedures

• Understanding of access control procedures and safety practices

• Knowledge of maintaining security registers

• Good communication skills (verbal and written)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Proactive and innovative mindset

Key Responsibilities

• Control and monitor access to the building to identify potential risks

• Conduct security patrols and escort duties

• Operate control room equipment and monitoring systems

• Respond to alarm activations and investigate incidents

• Prevent unauthorised removal of equipment, documents, or materials

• Monitor vehicle movement in the parking area

• Safeguard government and private vehicles within the premises
