Overview
South African National Parks is seeking a qualified and experienced Assistant Investigator to join the Environmental Crime Investigations Unit at Kruger National Park in Skukuza. @aishadescane
The successful candidate will assist with investigations into environmental crimes affecting SANParks and contribute to strengthening anti-poaching strategies and crime intelligence operations.
Minimum Requirements

NQF Level 6 qualification in Policing, Conservation Management, Crime Investigation, or a related field

Valid driver’s licence
-
At least three years of practical experience in law enforcement, wildlife crime investigations, or anti-poaching operations

Experience with criminal convictions and investigation processes

Computer literacy
-
Knowledge of relevant legislation

Understanding of environmental and criminal investigation procedures

Knowledge of crime intelligence and crime scene management
-
Understanding of stakeholder and financial management
-
Strong investigative and analytical abilities
-
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams

Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities
-
Assist with investigations into environmental crimes affecting SANParks
-
Support investigations related to Level 1–4 environmental crime cases
-
Analyse incoming intelligence reports to support proactive and reactive anti-poaching operations

Assist with corporate crime investigations when required
-
Support crime scene reconstruction and tactical intelligence analysis

Contribute to SANParks’ overall crime intelligence operations

Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders and partners

Prepare investigation reports and maintain administrative documentation
-
Assist with general administrative and reporting functions within the Environmental Crime Investigations Unit
