Purpose of the Learnership

The Sales Learnership Programme is designed to provide unemployed youth with practical workplace experience while completing a recognised qualification.

Throughout the 18-month programme, learners will participate in:

  • Structured classroom-based learning

  • On-the-job training within Metropolitan Life branches

  • Exposure to sales, customer service, administration, and financial advisory functions

Successful completion and performance may result in the achievement of a Wealth Management NQF Level 4 qualification, enabling career paths such as:

  • Financial Advisor

  • Sales Consultant

  • Client Service Representative

  • Insurance Administrator

  • Customer Experience Specialist


Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification

Age

  • Must be between 18 and 35 years

Citizenship

  • South African citizen by birth

Employment Status

  • Must be unemployed

  • Preference will be given to candidates from previously disadvantaged groups

Key Responsibilities During the Learnership

1. Training and Academic Commitments

  • Complete all prescribed learning modules

  • Submit assignments, assessments, and portfolios of evidence on time

  • Actively participate in classroom and workplace training activities

2. Administrative Duties

  • Perform administrative and reporting tasks accurately and timeously

  • Maintain records and documentation in line with company policies

  • Assist with internal documentation distribution and office support tasks

3. Customer Service Functions

  • Respond to client enquiries professionally and efficiently

  • Ensure service standards and SLAs are met

  • Route queries to the appropriate departments

  • Assist with resolving customer concerns effectively

4. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships

  • Communicate clearly and professionally

  • Support sales teams through effective collaboration
